The Holly and the Ivy is an old English Christmas carol that I know from the film A Christmas Story with George C. Scott (1984). Since then, it has triggered all the beautiful and pleasant Christmas feelings in me that make Advent and Christmas so magical.This Christmas colorway was inspired by the plants and this song.
 
The set contains a whole skein of yarn (100g fingering weight or 150 g sport weight) plus 10g of green and 10 g of red to knit contrasting heels and toes. 
 
The sample is knit up in the sport sock sparkle base.
